Matthew's Story
Ok where to start hmmm guess we can start after graduation from Newport High School
1973: I moved to Klamath Falls to attend the Oregon Institute of Technology working on an Associate Degree in Diesel Technology after 2 years I finished just 3 credit hours short of the degree was really pissed about it too it was the last final and there was no way to challenge it.
1974: Got married to my High School sweet heart Nancy Warmuth in Portland we moved her done to Klamath Falls so I could finish my schooling.
1975: So moved on got a job offer from a firm in Reno, so off we went I was working for a really well respected company that worked on rebuilding and testing furl systems for diesel truck. The were the contracted rebuilder for all Cummins Dealers and shops in the states surrounding Nevada plus all the truckers who traveled to Reno came to our shop to increase their engines horsepower using our injectors and fuel pumps. Which was vital for them moving freight over the mountain passes coming into Reno. It was a great job and the funny thing the work I was doing was the class that I failed in school. Although the work was good the pay was not the cost of living in Reno was high and we were having a hard time making it. So decided to move.
1976: Ended up in Portland where I went to work for a truck shop doing machining on diesel engines not my most fun job dirty back breaking work for a boss who was about as crooked as they came.
1977: A son is born Daniel Elijah Paulosky Nancy went into labor while opening Christmas presents at her parents house on Christmas eve drove to the hospital and 45 min. later the boy was delivered. He was amazing! He was so well tempered not at all fussy he never cried when we took him out to dinner or to the movies everyone kept commenting on how well tempered he was. rtland area is married to his High School sweet heart (she is just amazing and really good for him) they have given us 2 wonderful grand kids.
1980: Changed careers again moved to Silverdale WA to go into business with my father doing bookkeeping for small businesses. We eventually moved the business to the Arlington WA area and we continued until my father suffered a massive stroke which with the closing of our main customer due to the logging crises at the time the mill he worked for stopped all logging on all their tree farms.
1985 ¿ 1988: Worked different careers logging, RV mechanic, welder all for low wages just enough to get by.
1988: Got hired by Boeing as an assembly mechanic for almost double I was making made me very happy. I have worked on all of the airplane wings built at the Everett site starting with the 747 then the 767 and later the 777. I also had the opportunity to run a 92 ton 5 axis wing riveting machine for each of those lines and for a year in Renton on the 737 and 757 body sections.
1997: Married my long time girl friend Tammy. We were together for 15 years and are now separated. We have twins aged 18.
2004: After 5 back injuries and a partial disability I realized that I could no longer do that work. So I lucked out when a co-worker pointed out a job offer he though it might like working on databases and MS Access applications for the Electrical Engineers. I applied on a Monday and that Friday I was offered the job. I had to wait for 60 days before my current job would release me but in December of 2004 I was out of the assembly world and into the office cubical world been really happy there plenty of challenges and opportunities to learn new things.
2008: Graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BA in Information Technology all paid for by Boeing. Still thinking about going for a Masters.
