Matthew's Story
Life
Don't know if anyone will remember me and if they do it probably won't be because I was an ace student. I think my greatest contribution to Steveston Secondary was being an example of how not to behave. Think I survived 2 semesters before being tossed on my ear for being a degenerate. Luckily they didn't press charges regarding the graffiti and fish I stapled to the facade. Missed the reunion for '88 or '89 (don't recall when I was scheduled to graduate) cause I was living in Key West, Florida, working as a DJ, living in a '77 Chevy Impala. Since 'leaving' school, Jesus, don't know if I have enough time to explain my life. Year in Mexico, 4 years Yellowknife, 2 Years Southeast Asia (currently I am living in Sihanoukville, Cambodia). Had moderate success in stand-up and improv comedy. Moved onto film, worked for the CBC for a couple of years.
Made a documentary about in the middle east about invasion of Iraq that did fairly well. Jobs have included pizza delivery, tree planting, comm...Expand for more
ercial fisherman, mascot, roller skating instructor, clerk of CD store, pumping gas, washing cars, bartender, DJ, Scuba instructor, editor for Much Music...can't think of them all. Did a famously horrible 5 year turn as cab driver for Richmond cabs and met many of my fellow classmates from time to time. Unfortunately they were either screaming drunk and wanted to kick my ass (or vomit on the seats) or they were heading downtown on a coke binge to fraternize with transsexual hookers. Never married, no kids. Lot's of girlfriends (one 4 year relationship) but I've never been satisfied to sit still. Things have calmed down somewhat in my 30's yet I still haven't grown up in the slightest. Currently I am in the process of opening an English language school, selling impotency medication via internet superhighway, and writing my next film which I hope to have begun filming by the end of the year. Less impressive than it sounds. Important thing is I am healthy and happy. Hope all of you are well.
