Matthew's Story
Upon graduating from Reno High, I went on to UOP (NorCal) for one semester before transferring to and graduated from Biola University (SoCal). After teaching English in Japan for the summer I returned to the OC and began a career in video, film and graphic media. I have been back and forth to Reno, visiting and living from time to time, where my two oldest kids (late 20's) still reside.

moniker "Media Samurai" was derived from the ancient Japanese meaning "one who serves".
I spent three years traveling the world developing a feature film series entitled "eXtreme Faith", which took me to: Japan, China, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, England, Scotland, Ireland, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Mexico, and Costa Rica. On that trip, I met my amazing wife and we have been married since 2008. After living in the Philippines for almost three years, we returned to Los Angeles and Reno in 2010/2011.
After a stint as senior producer for FOX, my wife, youngest son and I have taken up residence a horse ranch in NE Oklahoma as we embark on an exciting project - with some of my oldest and dearest friends - to build a day-camp, residential equestrian camp program and center for a coming Horses For Heroes for returning veterans.
As of this writing (June 2015), I am just my thesis away from a Masters in Communications, Advanced Digital Storytelling.
My life to date has been filled with the darkest of valleys and the highest of mountains. It have been quite a ride. I can't wait to see what the coming years will bring! Live Free Film Hard!
