Maureen's Story
School
Hey Classmates,
I guess we don't stay young forever? Where am I now and what am I doing? I'm a divorced mother with a bright and energetic 4 year old daughter. I'm a Nurse Leader for Surgical Services in a women's hospital in Tampa, FL. Quite demanding, but equally rewarding. I'm working on my MBA & MSN through University of Phoenix online. When I have spare time I'm either involved in music or youth programs at my church, attacking some form of home improvement or relaxing in a day spa.
My memories of SVHS?
Biggest crush....somethings are better left unsaid.
Teachers I remember: Ellen Thornton (English) cussing out our class. Mrs. Heinrich and her uk...Expand for more
elele. Mr. Silberstein's chemistry class: I don't know how I passed! Mr. Miller's chorus! Loved it. I still remember All County Chorus and The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Best memories: The bus ride to BOCES everyday (Anyone knows if Chuck is still around?) and Eddie Boyd almost killing me on the car rides back to SVHS.
Fun times: SV Track, what a team! Cheering on the Basketball team.
Craziest Memories: Graduation!! Champagne, smelling marijuana, throwing up our caps (which was forbidden), yelling out the punchline to the principal's joke. Walking off the field instead of the recessional. The class of '83 definitely had its own style. I was glad to be a part.
