Maureen's Story
Mike Zopf says, 'Tell your story!' I say, 'Do I have to?' Made a few lefts when I should have made rights-to quote my brother Dennis. Where to start? Went to NCC for nursing for five minutes-first day on the hospital floor we saw a double amputee and that was the end of that! Worked in a bookstore for a few years, which is still my favorite job. Moved on to office work for the money. Started at the bottom, worked my way up to Controller. Good 20 year run and then that business was sold. Boo Hoo There was a marriage in there, Pete has since passed. No kids-always my biggest disappointment.

ere in 2000. Come come come they said. Their daughter got married, I stood up for her, she got pregnant, I stood up for the kids. Back and forth got silly. I had always wanted to try Fla so here I am-since 2003. The jury is still out but it's a tough market now no matter where you are!
Last company was a single family rental property-it was a great community! Ultimately it was taken over by Catholic Charities. They decided I made too much money.
So 40 years later, I'm back to the beginning: just took the CNA Training: Certified Nurse Assistant. Now to pass the State Boards. What industries are in FLa? Real Estate (in the toilet and I am not a salesperson) and HEALTHCARE. So, it's on to the next chapter!
