Max's Story
Life
I grew up in a rural area in Clark County, attending Northwestern Schools. I worked on farms, doing everything from milking cows to baling hay. After graduating from Northwestern High School in 1965, I attended Malone College in Canton, Ohio for 2 years. Then I transferred to Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. There I met my wife Linda--in debate class! We both graduated with degrees in Speech and English Education in 1969. Linda taught 30 years at Fairborn Schools, mostly at Fairborn High School, and is now retired and Executive Director of the Ohio High School Speech League. That organization supervises Ohio high schools' debate and public speaking competition activities across Ohio.

After leaving the teaching vocation in 1986, I worked full-time in the financial services area. I enjoy that work--especially teaching people how to best manage and protect their financial assets.
Our daughter Elizabeth is a Licensed Social Worker working in Montgomery County, helping senior citizens get the services they need. Our son Robert is a student at Ohio State University and looks to graduate in one more year.
We are active members of First Baptist Vandalia Church. I play the saxophone in the orchestra.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences of my life, and thank God for the blessings He has given Linda, me, and our children.
Having traveled into third world countries on church mission trips and seeing how most of the people in our world live, I am so thankful to be able to live in the United States of America and to have the freedoms and the opportunity that we have!
