Serena's Story
Life
I graduated from BJU with a B.A.in Voice. I married in 1973, had a daughter in 1976.We moved from Greenville, SC in 1979 to Dalton, GA. I returned to school to obtain my teaching credential and a M.ED in Learning Disabilities at West GA College. I taught 3 years before moving to CA with my husband and daughter in 1988. I began teaching in LAUSD as a Resource Specialist in a single track school, transfered to a year-round school for almost 10 years...Expand for more
. (I divorced in 1994).I am now an Assistant Principal-Elem. Instructional Specialist. I find my work rewarding and I love working with children, teachers and parents. I know that what I do is important and that I have a lasting impact on lives. I have not remarried and seriously doubt that I will let anyone have that much power over me again. I have left the church organization because of the spiritual abuse I suffered at the hands of the "leadership".
