Maxine's Story

After HS I went to PSU and got a degree in psychology and I had the opportunity to meet many interesting people from diverse backgrounds. Getting exposed to people different from myself was such a valuable experience, more so than any diploma could ever be! After PSU I moved to Harrisburg by default and have been here ever since! I'm currently working in Human Resources as Division Chief of Labor Relations and Safety for a state agency and there is never a dull moment! I am married to my HS sweetie and best friend and we have two gorgeous little boys. Being a mom is the most rewarding and important job I will...Expand for more
ever do and it gives such meaning, happiness and unconditional love to my life - something that can never be described with words. My boys give me perspective on what matters most in life (family, friends, love, good health, and having fun each day) and I am so thankful for that. We have 2 dogs and are regularly working on home improvements projects for our old home (built in 1928) in the city. I enjoy cooking, listening to almost any kind of music, taking long power walks, reading when I can get a quiet moment, and great conversation over wine or coffee. "Be kind, for every one you meet is fighting a battle."
