Maxine's Story
Hi everyone!
I decided to write a little about my last 40 years.-where did they go?
In 1968 my Dad was transferred through Boeing to Seattle. Since I was still living at home, I also moved. We left for Seattle In April and about two weeks before Memorial weekend I met Howard Cline. He turned out to be the love of my life, still is. We were married in June of that year. He was a hard working, widowed father of two, and was trying to start his own business.
We had a son born in Jan.,1969, a 2 lb. 15 oz. premie, he turned out to be fine. After six years, we had a daughter, then 15 mo. later had another girl. At that time we lived in a little town named Duvall, Wa. about 30 miles east of Seattle. We lived there 20 years, moved to Camano Is., Wa. for about 5 years, then in 1995 after our youngest daughter graduated from...Expand for more
high school, we moved to this little town of Heppner Or., where I still am living. All the kids are still in the Seattle area, so I'm there almost half the year.
After 40 years together, fighting to make a business, and all other things life brings, Howard lost his 3 yr. fight with cancer on Christmas Night, 2008. Merry Christmas, thank you very much. During that time we did everything together, I miss him more everyday. Still hard to think he won't be here any longer, but our kids are great and the seven grandkids keep things going!
I think of coming back to see everyone I knew in Wichita a lot. I don't know how I would find most people I would like to see, but I'm sure some could be located to have a laugh or two!!!
