Kathleen's Story
Life
Alan Lamarche and I were married on August 20, 1966, while he was still a football player at FSU. After graduation from college (him, not me, I dropped out, because my parents went bankrupt), we moved to the Gainesville area, where I worked at Sears, and he worked as a Wildlife Officer for the Fla. Game & Fresh Water Fish Commission. We returned to Tallahassee in 1969, because he was promoted--first to Training Officer, then to Investigations-Inspections Supv., and finally to Asst. Chief of Law Enforcement. In 1980, we decided to go into business for ourselves and opened Plantation Security, Inc.--a security patrol company that specializes in protecting the large hunting plantations that dominate the north Florida-south Georgia landscape. We've been in business now for 29 years. Alan also worked at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy as (Firearms) Range Master until he retired in 1997.

f the college newspaper, won a couple of awards, and graduated with honors. From there on, I puttered with freelance writing, did some newspaper columns and magazine articles, and ran our business in between that and rearing our kids. I returned to FSU in 1997 (part time) after the kids were grown, and I graduated Magna cum Laude with a BA in Creative Writing in December, 2002. That was one dream fulfilled. Now, I'm thrilled to have fulfilled my other most cherished dream--the publication of my novel, an award winning political suspense entitled "The Plot." It's available at Amazon.com (to see it, type ISBN 1-59080-203-9 in the search window). Alan and I have led a pretty blessed life together. We have a nice home second home at a laid-back resort on the Apalachee Bay called Shell Point, where I do my writing and Alan fishes. We have a 24' Grady White (named "Top Gun II"), and although we work hard, we enjoy a comfortable life with few money worries. We have four grandsons (two of whom are identical twins). So,that's it in a nutshell. Fascinating reading, huh? Thanks for visiting.
