Kathleen Lamarche:  

Life Alan Lamarche and I were married on August 20, 1966, while he was still a football player at FSU. After graduation from college (him, not me, I dropped out, because my parents went bankrupt), we moved to the Gainesville area, where I worked at Sears, and he worked as a Wildlife Officer for the Fla. Game & Fresh Water Fish Commission. We returned to Tallahassee in 1969, because he was promoted--first to Training Officer, then to Investigations-Inspections Supv., and finally to Asst. Chief of Law Enforcement. In 1980, we decided to go into business for ourselves and opened Plantation Security, Inc.--a security patrol company that specializes in protecting the large hunting plantations that dominate the north Florida-south Georgia landscape. We've been in business now for 29 years. Alan also worked at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy as (Firearms) Range Master until he retired in 1997. Meanwhile, we had a son, Daniel, and a daughter, Mary Kate. I returned to college part time in 1972 at Tallahassee Community College where I graduated with honors in 1975.
