Life During the year following graduation, I stayed in LA, nannying and doing what I could on a meager salary to take part in the performing community. I joined a dance company formed by a college friend called Meh-tropolis Dance Theatre. I also participated in a number of small film projects and a play in Hollywood. When I couldn't take being broke anymore, I moved back to Portland to save up some money and hopefully break into the local theatre scene. Within a week of arriving home, I auditioned for and was asked to join a local company, Kinetic Images Dance Co. I spent a year dancing and working a boring desk job to build up my bank account, and seriously contemplated moving to New Zealand after Bush was re-elected. My departure date kept getting pushed back and eventually became indefinite after performing in a couple of local shows over the summer ('05). I visited New York, with the idea of moving there-instead of NZ-so I scoped it out for 2 weeks, attending dance classes and several auditions.
