Meina's Story

Happy Spring 2023! Lived in Las Vegas for the past 27 years with husband, Rick, and have two daughters, Marisa and Riana, and a Maltese dog, Daisy. Got an MBA in '95 and a great job, but decided to be a homemaker soon after Marisa was born. Marisa, 23, graduated from Stanford University in 2021 and lives and works in Washington DC. She had worked hard to earn scholarships that provided full rides for tuitions for middle school, The Alexander Dawson School in Las Vegas, and boarding high school, The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. Covid shut down forced her to return early from Stanford study abroad in Paris in 2020, but despite the opportunity to delay graduation, she chose to graduate on time. That meant graduation was a bust for both ceremonies and celebrations with family and friends (not even her sister was allowed at graduation (sigh))! She loves living in DC and working for Bellwether, allowing her to continue her passion for educational opportunities for all! Riana, 19, is a sophomore playing D1 women's golf at the University of San Francisco. She chose her college based on her rapport with her college golf coach and the support system given to athletes, rather than based on top college golf programs. We'd heard/seen too many stories about college athletics and decided that she needed to select what's best for HER, not what's best for her GAME. Never expected to have an athlete in our family (daddy said no to competitive gymnastics), so it's been quite the expense and learning experience! Riana is currently high ranked on World Amateur Golf Rankings (W...Expand for more
AGR). If she continues to improve and play well through graduation, who knows, maybe she'll decide to dedicate 100% effort to turning Pro! Daisy, 3, joined our family in April 2020. She brings so much love and joy to our family and thinks of herself as our protector (she's only 4 lbs)! She's a bit spoiled, a bit picky, and a lot loving! Our friends are Maltese dealers, so we have built-in dog sitters (they kept Daisy's sister, Summer), while we also provide occasional dog-sitting to their current puppies. Daisy gets playmates and playtime! It's hard sometimes because we become attached to those cute puppies! When Rick turned 50, we bought a Corvette Z06 for him/us to enjoy. He entered and won many trophies at various car shows during the first few years, but then the girls' activities took over. After 16 years with the Corvette, I still can't drive stick, but he taught the girls using his stick shift commute car during covid shut down, so now, Riana is easing in to driving the Corvette. Rick can often be found in his Corvette or with Daisy in his arms! As for me, adjusting to a mostly empty nest hasn't been easy, especially after being used to chasing the girls all over locally and across the country with their activities. I'm still accompanying Riana on tournaments outside of school, but otherwise, I'm a doTERRA Essential Oils advocate for the past 12+ years. We've discovered the many health benefits of natural products for our family, so if you have any questions, feel free to contact me! If you're ever in Las Vegas, contact me at (702) 658-9612 and we'll catch up!
