Melanie Fullerton-'s Story
Life
I like Facebook better because it is free...but here's my story- I am currently a wife and stay-at-home mother, home educating my two little cherubs (age 14 and 11). I am happily married, since 1991, to a wonderful man I met back in 1983. We were friends for many years, and God brought us together in wedded bliss. We attend a Presbyterian church near our home. We are Bible believing, Jesus loving, grace receiving, conservative Christians. We enjoy being outdoors, camping, biking, playing. We love to read good books (of course the best being THE Good Book, the Bible) and watch old movies, and modern movies that are decent. We love to play board games (especially "Cranium"). We listen to conservative talk radio and love it. We have a mutt named "Lucy", named for Lucy in the "I Love Lucy" show (my very favorite show of all time). My husband owns his own accounting/tax business, but he does not have the stuffy personality of a typical accountant. He is very funny, and makes me laugh even after all these years. My daughter is a horse loving, book reading, author who currently publishes her own e-newsletter to friends and family. Our son is a baseball loving, tool using, book reading, cook who learns more from his daddy than me in cooking. We love life, we love to laugh, and we love each other. I would love to hear from anyone who wants to take a stroll down memory lane. God's love to you all!
School
I attended Humble High School from 1976 to 1978. I moved to Oklahoma City in 1978, and there I attended Putnam City North High School. I graduated from PCN in 1980.
College
I went to college for a very long time, because I changed my major after 3 years and I changed colleges too often. ...Expand for more
I went to South Oklahoma City Jr. College, North Harris County Community College (in Houston, TX), Bethany Nazarene College (in Bethany, Ok), then Oklahoma City University. I graduated from there in 1987 with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. For the years I attended OCU, I was on the National Dean's List, Who's Who in Colleges and Universities, and graduated Suma Cum Laude (hope I spelled that right, that would be embarrassing).
Workplace
As a small child, I was an actress. I was in a couple of commercials, one episode of "Dragnet", and some other shows for a Christian tv show, "This is the Life". I was in a series, "To Rome with Love", and bad sci-fi flick, "Night of the Lepus." I got out of acting as I got older. Right out of high school, I became a waitress in a little restaurant in Tuttle, Oklahoma. It was called LG's. Then I waitressed mostly through college, doing occasional office work here and there. I met my husband in a Steak n Ale restaurant. He was a cook and I was a waitress. (It is a beautiful story, you should hear it sometime.) Then, right after I graduated college, I went to England for the summer. Before I went, I worked at Jack-in-the-Box! (A college graduate at this place?) I also waitressed at a restaurant in Phoenix, AZ. I taught in a private school, non-parochial, for my first year of teaching. Then I taught in public school for 7 years. I quit teaching in public school when I had my daughter in 1995. I have been home-educating her, and now my son, since then. I occasionally help my husband out by doing computer work or payroll at his tax and accounting office. We like to flirt with each other like we used to when we worked at Steak-n-Ale:)
