Melanie's Story
Life
Hey hey!! I'm living in the UK. I'm at a point where I'm not sure if I'm staying in the AF or not. I love it here...so I want to stay, but we'll see. A lot of things are changning in my life right now...once they settle down I'll probably update more.
College
I'm taking some online classes from Colorado Christian University. I decided on online (even though more expensive) but because I feel bad leaving my dog here for so long during the day! I'm only part time, but for now, it's decent!
Workplace
My job is an office job. I work promotions for the reservists. Basically playing with papers, computers, and phones. I don't see myself doing this for life, but for now, it'll do!
Military
Boot camp was an experience. I honestly wondered if I'd make it through it. Once I was there...I never saw the end, I thought I'd be there forever! Ha ha...From there I went to Fort Leonardwood in Missouri...nasty nasty place...BUT I met so many amazing people that it made my time there so memorable. From then I went to Biloxi Mississippi. I was only there a few months a...Expand for more
nd didn't really find it too exciting, so for the most part it was a blur.
My first assignment was Randolph AFB near San Antonio. I was there for 2 1/2 years. It was pretty decent. I made tons of great friends. Got to visit Mexico and tons of places in Texas. Oh I also went to Louisiana which was FUN!! WA has drive through coffee places, they have drive through alcohol stands. It was so WEIRD!!! San Antonio was fun though, had GOOD food and just fun places to visit. It was just TOO hot and humid.
My second assignment is here in Denver. It's a special duty assignment I was selected for which came at a perfect time. I was tired of San Antonio and Denver is a LITTLE closer to Spokane. About half way actually. I absolutely love it here though. It's area is A LOT like WA but it's a little cleaner. The things here to do are way better too. They have so many contemperary restaurants and things. Tons of fun outside type things to do. Although the weather is crazy here, changes so easily and quickly. I've only been here a little over 6 months, but I love it!!
