Melba's Story

Life After living in many different states and Germany, I left my final residence in GA and moved to AZ in 1999, worked for three more years, then retired from the post office. I have been a single Mom since 1977, but, with the Good Lord's help, managed to raise two fine sons. Now, I enjoy singing with several different groups, performing locally, volunteering at nursing homes, and spending time with my two grand daughters here in AZ when I'm not traveling. The youngest little angel is autistic, and at eight, is still unable to talk, but is begining to take steps with her braces. She has been a star in our lives. I have one sibling in Ga., one in North Carolina, one in CT., and one brother who lives in San Diego. I keep the roads 'hot' between Phoenix and San Diego. I have one son and wife in GA and the other is about an hour away here in Az. (also with wife and two children) Life has been,...Expand for more
and IS good. I get to enjoy sunshine EVERY day, hear the coyotes howl at night in the river wash behind my house, and watch quail, roadrunners, doves, and hummingbirds all year long. I've become a real 'desert rat'. I love the wide open spaces with mountain views, and the many wonderful things this state has to offer. Gee, I sound like a commercial! The profile picture was made in 2007, the book profile pic in 2008, but now I have short red hair. Don't know if it will stay that way too long. I'm a person of change.
