Melinda's Story
I married Tom Bunting and moved to San Luis Obispo. While Tom was a Cal Poly student, I worked for a flight school and charter service and enjoyed taking flying lessons.
Upon graduation, Tom was hired as an engineer for General Dynamics in San Diego. I was employed by the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where I worked for seven years before taking a job in Rancho Bernardo, where we lived at the time. I was thrilled to get a job closer to home and was hired by the National Network of Youth Ministries. That experience prepared me for many more ministry opportunities which would follow.

ab, taught junior high and high school journalism and cooking classes. It was the most rewarding nine years of my life.
After 26 years of marriage, Tom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and a year later I lost him. But God still had plans for me and I met another wonderful man named Kevin O'Connor.
Kevin is the senior pastor at Christian Life Center, a non-denominational community church. We have now been married almost five years. Between us we have three children. Shawn, who is our children's pastor, Chris, and Hannah.
I love working with my husband and find it such a privilege to be a pastor's wife. I would never had guessed it when I was in high school. Amazing how our lives change through the years.
