Melinda's Story
After graduating from high school, I attended and graduated from Baylor University with a major in anthropology and a minor in biology. I was premed during my stint at Baylor. I worked for about a year and then applied to the SMU graduate program in medical anthropology before deciding that I really wanted to go to medical school. I attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, graduated from medical school in 1999, and went on to a residency program in OB/GYN in Dayton, Ohio. I have been in private practice in Dallas Texas since 2004. I love surgery, obstetrics, and the office practice.

e vacations are hiking and backpacking in the national parks--especially the back-country. I have 2 cats and one dog. My wolf-dog whom I had had for 14 years died in November 2008--I was and still am very sad about her passing. My mother battled ovarian cancer for 3 1/2 years and died July 5, 2009. I was able to spend a lot of time with my mother during that time, despite my busy practice, and I am grateful to God for giving me the time that I had with her. Overall, I'm very happy with life as it is---I always have multiple projects going and don't have much time to relax unless I schedule it in to my day (or schedule it 6 weeks in advance)!
