Melisa's Story
After VHS I went to NSU and in Dec. of 1989 married Bill Daugherty(VHS class of '86) and we moved to Washington state (U.S. Navy) from there we moved to Hawaii, Colorado and back to Oklahoma where Bill was excepted to EEAP (College advancement through the military) and I went to Nursing school. We were being transfered back to Hawaii when he was killed out on the east coast on 6-17-99. From there I moved to Tulsa and worked ICU at Saint Francis for 5 years when I was reunited with Doug Thach and built a house on 40 acres in Adair and we have a beautiful 3 year old little girl named Carmen. Doug also has a 7 year old boy named Jackson from a previous marriage (Erin Emerson). I tired quickly of the Turnpike and came full circle and took a job at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. n Coordinator providing continued Ed to the nurses and other hospital staff. I work 7-3 Monday-Friday and love it! I continued on with my education and will have my Masters in Nursing Administration this year. Carmen goes to Cowboy Junction (private christian school in Vinita) and she is the sweetest little girl and looks just like her daddy with blonde hair. Doug works for GRDA at the Pensicola Dam. No, marriage is not in our vocabulary at this time, even after all these years I still have an issue about marriage and when asked Doug just tells people we will get married when I ask him. That works for us!!! We enjoy riding motorcyles, going to dinner & movies and doing a little traveling when we can. I am still very close with Bills family and he is missed more than I can even say. We can't wait to see everyone this summer!
