Melissa's Story

Ok...Confession: so maybe I didn't graduate from Central. But I should've; I went to Austin Elementary & Lee Jr. High with everyone that graduated in 1988. In my sophomore at Central year my father, who died in 1996, was called to pastor a church in Eldorado, TX. Yup! The home of the XYZ Ranch (they weren't there when we were there). It was such a culture shock going from San Angelo to Eldorado. I was a complete foreigner. I wasn't well received by the students; but the teachers loved me. I have even come to be friends with one of them; and we still communicate after all these yrs. The advantage of graduating in a small town: I graduated in the top 10. At Central...I wouldn't have made such an impact. But I'm still true to the Angry Orange (which btw, as I type this, I am wearing orange). I did attend ASU in 1989 for three semesters but I wasn't motivated at the time so I quit. I am currently attending Angelo State University; I returned on a part time basis in the spring of 2007; I am now fulltime. With God's g...Expand for more
race & strength I am about two yrs from graduating with a master's degree in accounting. I have been married for 10 years to my husband, Toby. He is 12 yrs older than me. (I always did like 'em older.) He's been very supportive of me going back to school. And always works hard to give me what I want. He never says no to me. Even when I wanted to have a baby & he already had three kids from previous marriage. We have 2 daughters: Mirabelle & Monette; they are 10 and 6 yrs old. Toby is my heart...You can't live without a heart. And my girls are my life...I live for them. Hopefully, when I graduate, I can spoil him in return. God blessed me with the ultimate gift almost 3 yrs ago. I am living in the house I grew up in; my girls are attending the elementary school I went to (Austin Elementary). They will attend Lee Jr. High and Central, too. I get to relive my youth through them. I hope they, too, will have all the fond memories of youth that I have. If anyone sees this, that remembers me...drop me a line.
