Melissa's Story

Life, for me seems to get better and better as I get older! You know that person you see when you are younger that is driving a minivan with two carseats.....and you think "that will never be me"? Well, it IS me and I love it!! After graduating from MTSU with a BS in Biology and Chemistry, I went on to receive my Masters Degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt University. (Anyone who knew me in high school knew I would end up at Vanderbilt at some point!) During one of my clinical rotations for nursing, I met and quickly fell in love with my now husband. He was the physician working in the urgent care clinic at the time-he also gave me my grade for that rotation :) Fast forward to today, we have been together for 12 years and married for 10. We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, one who is almost three and one who is five and a half. We live on a golf course in Chattanoog...Expand for more
a that is surrounded by mountains, so the views are gorgeous! I currently have put being a Family Nurse Practioner on hold and am a full time stay at home mom staying quite busy with the schedule of two little ones . My husband Bruce does family practice full time and ER work part time. He is a Commander in the US Navy, and the XO at the Navy/Marine base in Atlanta. He is truly my personal officer and a gentleman! We used to travel a lot, and loved it, but that has slowed down quite a bit since kids. I am very blessed to have found someone to build a family with who is as truly wonderful as my husband is! He is extremely intelligent, sexy, an awesome father, and he loves to spoil me! Am I lucky or what!? Life truly is great right now, better than I ever expected...Although I will admit it will be much better when our youngest decides she wants to be completly potty trained!!!
