Melissa's Story

Life My husband Mike (Bethel High School class of '70)and I have been married for 31 years. We own a pawnshop in Lakewood, where I work part time. We have both served on the board of the Washington State Pawnbrokers Association (him, V.P.; me, Secretary). I am currently the newsletter chairman. I served on the Tacoma Holiday Cotillion for 3 years before leaving to concentrate on my volunteer position at the Puyallup Food Bank, where I am also the President of...Expand for more
the Board. Mike and I have been volunteers at the food bank for 9 years. For fun we enjoy riding around on his Harley during the summer, or cruising around in my '66 Mustang, meeting with friends, and enjoying our kids (Janelle - 30, Stacy - 27), and our grand kids (Taylor - 10, Spencer - 5, Bradley, 2. Special trips and vacations include cruises and bike rides to far away places. Check out puyallupfoodbank.org to see just one of the many passions in my life!
