Melissa's Story
Life
Graduated Masuk 1998, majored in molecular biology at the University of California, Berkeley (1992), and stayed at Berkeley for a Masters of Public Health (1995). I worked for local and international organizations in reproductive health in California, Vietnam, India, and Ethiopia, where I met my husband. 01-5, and have lived in Tokyo, Japan since leaving Egypt. We have two kids, Alex (Nov 2002) and Madeleine (April 2004), as well as an Egyptian cat we adopted as a stray kitten (the vet in Cairo said he's a "desert cat" but he looks like any old cat). I like to travel, scuba dive (when I get the chance), read, and, yes I'll admit it - knit. I'd love to go back to university to do my PhD some day but the older I get the less likely this seems...
