Melissa's Story
Life
My name is Melissa Denton. Most of my school friends knew me as Missy Feltenstein. My family moved to Dallas in the middle of my senior year. After high school I traveled to California to meet my real dad for the first time. I had the opportunity to live with my Grandmother and Great-grandmother.
I have a bad habit of doing crazy things when I feel my life is stagnating. After living a year in California, I joined the U.S. Navy and traveled around the world. While in the Navy, I married and had two wonderful kids. 8 years later, I left the Navy, divorced my husband and moved to Florida. After many years and a lot of stuff I donÂt want to get in to nowÂ
I moved to Arizona to marry my husband and we have together 4 wonderful kids (1 daughter and 3 sons). Our daughter and her husband just had their second child (yeah!), our oldest son is attending Eastern Arizona College (I home schooled this one), our second son is a Junior in high school (can you believe I am a band mom, tennis mom, soccer and swim mom?) and our youn...Expand for more
gest is 6 but entering in to the third grade. All four of them have been advanced at least one year ahead in their schooling careers.
My husband is a wonderful man. While I was serving in the Navy, he was serving in the Army. He is also a theater buff. In fact his major was in theater. Halloween is probably one of the wildest holidays in our home (next to Christmas). We try to put together a haunted house of sorts each year. Last year we put together a rain forest theme house. We try to put together something fun and slightly scary; but not too scary for the little ones.
I am now working on my degree in Early Childhood Ed. I just recently closed my daycare and preschool to work for Head Start. This school year I will be working in my youngest elementary school. I will be doing this until my new business of music and movement for children opens up!
I am hoping to reconnect with my school friends. I would love to hear what roads you took and how your lives are now.
