More about Melissa:"I grow up as an Air Force brat, but we didn't have to move a lot just about 7 times and I have to say my favorite place to live growing up was Panama. It was great, but we had to move before my senior year it was really hard but then in 89 I met the Love of my life, Rich in NE nearly a year after I graduated in 1988 . It was his first base; he was in the Air Force, for over 21 years and he retired in Aug of 2009. We got married in June of 1990, and we have 4 beautiful and great children. Todd-24, Kayla-22, Magen-19 and Mason-14. I am sure those of who knew me way back when can figure out that Mason got his name from my madd...Expand for more
en name. We are now living in TN and working at the TN Children’s home, Rich is the Executive Director at the East Campus and I am a house parent and the school secretary. Todd graduated from Liberty University this year and is now working for DCS in Franklin TN and living in Nashville. Kayla is also graduated college from Freed Hardeman University. She is also engaged to be married next April to a wonderful young man name J.D. and planning to try to attend graduate school at UT Knox. Magen finish her first year college at Freed Hardeman University and is unsure if she wants to go back to school right now so she plans on working for a bit and Mason is going to be starting 9th grade. We love what we are doing right know working with troubled youth (an all-boys campus ages 13-18 and we can have up to 8 boys at a time in the house) but it is a stressful and trying job sometimes. The one thing I know that keeps me going is seeing the change some of these boys make, like asking to pray before dinner and learning to put others first and not always think of themselves first. IT is a great mission and I pray for them daily that we can set the right example for them.".
