Melissa's Story

Life Since leaving high school and good ole PT in '98, I moved to New York for school, then interned in New Mexico for a semester, moved back to NY, then to New Jersey for the summer, went back to PT long enough to do my laundry at moms house and then moved to Costa Rica, where I studied off and on for two years in CR, Honduras, and Nicaragua, building houses and planting trees along the way. I moved to B'Ham after school for awhile, then came back to PT to take classes at Peninsula before moving to Santa Fe New Mexico for my first teaching job. re for six months before finding my dream job here in Florida, where I can combine my love of teaching with my need for camping. I currently am (and have been for six months) working as a wilderness counselor at an outdoor educational program for juvenile delinquents- no poisonous snakes and spiders or Hurricane Charley can make me leave my tent in the woods, and I plan to be here for awhile. ***UPDATED 10/10/05*** I left Florida after 17 long and amazing months of counseling to return to school in Washington, where some strange karmic events in the family landed me back in Bellingham, going to school and taking care of dad while pretending to be able to take care of the two younger half-siblings while dad regains mobility.
