Melissa's Story
School
After graduating from Cave SPring, I went to VA Tech and majored in education (math and social studies). During my fourth year I was able to live in ROanoke and do my studetns teaching at Penn Forest Elementary. I also helped coach track and volleyball at Hidden Valley Jr. After graduating in May 1990, I got a job teaching Kindergarten and coaching the CS volleyball team. n second grade. My lastyear in Roanoke County I taught 7th and 8th grade English at HVJH.
Workplace
After teaching and coaching in Roanoke County Schools for 10 years, I remarried and moved to Lexington, VA. I took a year off to get the blended family adjusted. I have taught part-time for the last three years, but in June I am retiring from teaching to help my husband with his construction business. I plan to spend a lot of time on the tennis court and working around the farm in the gardens.
