Melissa's Story

Whats new - 12/27/08 currently remodeling both the bathroom and the bedroom, can I tell you the drywall dust, old plaster, stain and the poly is making me crazy, cant wait till it is done it will be wicked pretty. yeah I have a few heros, my mom is one she tought me to love regardless and to never judge. My daughter for being everything I never was, and my best friends, Lynne and Velta. They have been my strenght when I wasn't sure I could go on. I love them all and feel I am truly blessed to have them in my life. I live in Bushnell, Illiois now. I moved there because that is where I met my current husband and the schools were better, no drive bys. THe one person from my past that I would like to see again is David Stanton, I have not seen him in forever and I miss him. He was a good friend.....I hope that all is well with him. I guess my obsessions are shoes, good deals and decorating. I usually don't buy anything unless it is on sale, and if I can repourpose something you know that I will, I think I drive my husband crazy. I have found out the hard way that you can have as many plans that you want, but it doesn't really matter. God has a plan for you weather you like it or not. My life has been a struggle, from an abusive ex to the death of my mother and daughter within a week of each other, to taking care of a disabled son. It has made me the person I am today. Sometimes I am okay with it other times not so much. Wow, the things I have learned from my kids is that they are a true gift. Now don't get me wrong, I am not one of those parents that think my kids do no wrong, come on I know there parents they were screwed from the get go, but they are respectful, courtious, smart, and will do anything for you.. both of my kids I raised to have "no filter" so what you see is what you get, it is rather refreshing. I taught them to never tell people what they want to here, to be true to themselves first. That people will love and hate them for it but, no one will be able to say them misunderstood what they meant. throw it on the table. I just turned 40 in September, now when I was 12, I so thought that 40 was old. I was so completely wrong. Can I say I so ROCK at 40, I went from a dork in High School to a MILF now. I am currently an office manager at a local heating and cooling company, before that I worked for the state and retired. So don't miss that thankless job. If my life could have been different I would have been an interior designer, I still have time though so I am trying to get on the tv show design star...yeah.... My best friend would tell you I'm a huge flirt, but peopl...Expand for more
e who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a huge flirt. No, I can say I will never dress that way again, and the hair, can I tell you no more big hair for me. I was poor when I was in school. My mom didn't have any money, so I would work all summer to save money to buy clothes for school the next year. I have an obsession for shoes and clothes now, I have a 20 x 20 room full of clothes and over 200 pairs of shoes, and about 30 purses. I feel that to stay young you need to change with the times. I feel that you should buy basic quality/timeless pieces then trendy disposable items to go with it so that you are always in style. Wow, if I got one do-over I guess it would be the day my mom told me she was tired, and I told her it was okay to go lay down, she said no you don't understand, Im tired. so I told her it was okay, she didb't have to fight anymore. You see, my mom had fought for almost two years, liver and kidneys shutting down, and cancer. she was tired. So I told her she didn't have to fight anymore. She passed that night, I stayed with her and held her hand and layed in bed with her as she died of a massive heart attack she was finally at piece. But you see Kayliegh always said that she was grandmas guardian angle and that she was here for her. Since she was 9 yrs old she would always say that when grandma goes so does she, we even have it on video. My baby died a week after my mom did, she kissed me goodbye, told me she loved me and didn't come home. If I would have known that I never would have told my mom it was okay to stop fighting. Wow, my oldest and dearest friend was and still is Lynne V. We were total oppisites, I was a confined, poor child that didn't have a life and she decided to be my friend anyway, thank God she was drawn to dorks. I could then and can now, be myself with her. She loves me regardless, she is good to me and my family and I love everything about her. I am blessed to have her in my live and her kids, can I tell you how cute they are, they are wicked smart, beautiful and have a great mommy. Lynnes life partner is hillarious, she did good. I was always quiet and overweight in school. Not so much now, I don't have a problem speaking my mind, and I have lost 183 lbs. So I don't look or act anything like I did then. thank God. I guess it depends, If I am pissed I will go out dance and drink after screaming like I have lost my mind. call my friends and get them to go out with me. You know raise a little hell. If I just want to relax then I will sit at home, turn on some nmusic and have a glass of wine, I prefer a moscato, it has to be wicked sweet.
