Melodie's Story
Life
I live in the North Liberty,Iowa-- the Hawkeye State for those sports fans reading this! It is a suburb of Iowa City where the University of Iowa is located. I live in a condo with my 18 yr old son who is attending Kirkwood Community College and works at a local movie rental shop which is right up his alley with both of us being movie buffs.
I have been with the University since 1990 and really like this medical service field and all fascination it brings.

Workplace
I work for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Radiology Department. My title is Compliance and Coding Specialist. I am a certified professional coder. Roughly translates to I review chart documentation and code the procedures and diagnosis on the patients in our department. I also review each to maintain requirements of standards within national guidelines needed for proper documentation for each payer (re: Medicare/Medicaid/Blue Cross)
