Melvin's Story
Life
I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1981 Cume Laude with a Bachelor degree in Engineering Technology (that means honor roll and most of you who knew me will find this fact hard to believe) . I also graduated in 1978 from New Hampshire Technical Institute with an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology. Since then my higest acheivement was being granted a US patent #4711125 December 8, 1987 for an Inertial Measurement Unit. I call the product the QUBIKtm IMU. It is a magnetically levitated cube originally intended for use in a navigation system for glide bombs. Now I promote this product as an automotive black box accident recorder. I have presented and published many papers rubbing elbows with Scientist from all over the world (you can fool some of the people all of the time). I have also had consulting contracts with the US Navy, Missile Defense Agency, General Motors, LORAL Aerospace, and today I am getting involved with Russian companies who are interested in this technology. I don't reccomend anybody follow my footsteps because being an inventor is fustrating most of the time (Sometimes I wish I did somethign else). s interesting. Now the boring stuff. I live with my fiance' in her 8,000 square foot old colonial mansion. It has a widows walk which is my favorite place to be in the whole wide world. We would have been married five years ago but I have an estranged ex wife that has made as much trouble as she can and then some. I have two children that are not part of my life. I do have an adopted family with 4 grown up children (grown up by age but still not very mature) who have produced 4 grand children with another one on the way. The six year old grandson calls me his dad because he thinks he can choose who he wants to be his dad. I tell him that I am like a dad to him but I am not his real dad. He answers yes to the question "Are you going to have a 95 mile an hour fastball by the time you are 15?" The 12 year old grandaughter (she is a barbie doll)wants to sell me for 1 million dollars after I finish restoring the mansion, She already has boys wrapped around her finger and can look you in the eye and lie. The other grandchildren are 3, 2 and one is in the kitchen expected to join us early next year. Even though I still have 1730 chracters remaining I am going to reserve the right to use them at a later date. I could write a book about my journey through life. I have been a grand marshall in the Disney World parade, lived in CA for 10 years, been to Viva Las Vegas many times.
