Melvin's Story
After high school, I attended Mt. San Antonio College (junior college) (graduated), as many did from Garey High, and then spent 4 years in the U.S. Army. I have worked numerous jobs, but my career has primarily been in manufacturing as it relates to defense, contruction and wood products. I have attended the University of Maryland, Columbus University, University of Phoenix and Keller Graduate School of Management. my 40s. I guess never to late is how it goes, but still moving forward. I have a daughter, son, grandson and grandson on the way. I remember graduating and heading to grad night with dreams and ambition in 1975 just as I suspect all did. 36 years later I have life scars and have survived. Age catches up and the past seems so long ago as it relates to Garey High School. I guess the next big step is being eligible to eat off of the Denny's senior menu at the end of this year. Dreams never end.
