Merilee Robinson:  

Life After graduating from CHS in 1967, I went to Santa Monica College for one year. I moved to Lemoore. CA with my folks. After 1 year at West Hills College (AA) I went to CSU Fresno, where I met my wonderful husband, Richard, (41 years). We lived in Vallejo(BA at CSU Sonoma), Los Banos (Son, Will born 1976), Woodlake, and finally Lindsay (Daughter, Lorilee born 1981). We have lived here 34 years. Unofficially adopted son, Al, joined the family in 1997. Their picture is in the picture section. (Al, Lorilee, Will). Lorilee looks just like I did in high school--so that's my "then" picture. Lorilee's best friend, Rebecca, had a baby, Gabriel, in 1999 and he became our first unofficial grandchild. In 2006, Al and his wife, Heidi, had a baby boy. His name is Kael Ryan Paz. My son, Will, and his wife, Jennifer, had our first biological granddaughter (Emma Lou) in 2007 and our second biological granddaughter (Lilly) in 2009. And Gabriel has a sister, Lola, born on July 1, 2008. Will and Jen are adopting her niece, Maddy, so, now we have six grandchildren. Unofficial or not, we claim them as our own. We hosted 8 exchange students over 10 years (1992 - 2002). The countries they were from included Finland (2), Belguim (1), Brazil (1), Japan (2), Germany (1) and South Korea (1). I have been in education--as has my husband--for 35 years (less 2 years as a CNA and 4 years of child rearing for me). We both have taught special education (We are now semi-retired--June will be our actual no extra working retirement). We will be moving to Corpus Christie Texas in June 2013 to join our three granddaughters, son and d-i-l and just be grandparen...Expand for more
