Merle's Story
Life
After graduating, I attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo where I earned a Bach. of Science in Aviation and my Commercial, Instrument and Multi-engine pilot ratings. I got a job in Ypsilanti at an Airline where I worked for three years dispatching. Flying jobs were scarce at that time since the auto industry was in the dumper. I had always wanted to be in the military and was offered a position to fly in the Army. I joined the Army as a Warrant Officer where I have been ever since. I am an Instructor/ Examiner in the UH-60 Black hawk. I enjoy my job even though the hours are long and the time away from home gets more frequent all the time. I really love the Black hawk. It's a well built aircraft and a real pleasure to fly!
I attended the five year reunion and really had a blast. I was unable to attend the ten year reunion because of Army conflicts. I hope I can get to the 20 year reunion but will probably not be back from over seas i...Expand for more

My best friend in school(and still is) Joe Reyer. We've stayed in contact and see each other as often as possible. He is married and lives with his wife in Alabama. I did not get married until I was 29. Her name is Shannon and I met her when I still worked at the airline. She is the love of my life and my best friend. We really had fun working together and deceided it could only get better if we dated each other. I came home from flight school and surprized her with a full wedding on Dec. 25th 1993 complete with dress, families, church and cake! We don't have any children yet but have one "very" spoiled boxer! She is part of the family and we could not imagine life without her!
I am stationed at Ft. Campbell Ky. where I have spent most of my Army career. The pace is fast but I feel proud to be in a unit with such a rich history.
Other than the reunion, I have never run into anyone from Glenn. I hope to see you all at the reunion!
