Merle's Story
I'm a Professor Emeritus from Sacramento State University and Editor-in-Chief of Remodel Spokane Magazine. I am a published poet with one book on the stands (The Haunting: Poetic Images of Alaska) and one in production (Colors of the Soul: A Poetic Quest). I am a romantic poet. 9 children, 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. I like limericks, puns, and overall humor. I enroll in a Poetry Workshop each quarter. I've lived in Alaska, taught in Thailand, Russia, and France. I've also lived in Montana,Virginia,Texas,Mississippi and California. I was a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force but separated before I could draw a pension. I've been married 3 times: divorce, my second wife's death, and now for 24 years.If I had one do-over, I'd be an archeologist, but still a romantic poet.
