Merrill's Story
After graduating from AHS, I attended Northern Virginia Community College, got my pilot's license, then joined the Navy and went to tech school for a year and a half where they taught me never touch the red wire.
I got out of the Navy in 1982 and went to work for Florida Power at their nuclear power plant in Crystal River. While in Florida I finished college, got married and had two daughters. 1996 was a big year. I got divorced and took a job in Kansas City...Expand for more
with the Electric Power Research Institute. In 1999 EPRI transferred me to Charlotte, North Carolina where I've been ever since.
My girls still live in Florida, one's married, one's in college, and I now have a 3 year old grandson. I've got a really great girlfriend that doesn't seem to mind putting up with my company on a regular basis, and that my girls think is pretty cool, too.
