Merritt's Story
After graduating from UMSL became a probation/parole officer. Have been practicing the craft ever since. Moved to Las Vegas in 1990 and am a Sergeant with the Nevada Department of Public Safety. (Out here in the wild west parole officers are "peace officers," hence, the military title. Years ago they gave me a gun. It stays, for the most part, in my desk; just in case I have to shoot one of the files in my in-basket.)

My wife of 26 years, Maggie, is a Nevada State Senator. She was the first working waitress ever elected to the Senate. She just recently quit humping trays and took a job with a non-profit that helps working folks who don't have health insurance get medical treatment.
Have two daughters, Grace (23) and Lucy (22). Good kids, but they're 22 and 23. No grandkids yet, but Grace got married a few months ago, so who knows?
