Michael's Story
I spent my entire life helping mankind. After graduation I entered the US Air Force where I spent six and half years as a firefighter. I rose through the ranks quickly eventually becoming a Fire Chief. I was Honorably Discharged in June 1977, on Humanitian purposes.
Life has delt the family some severe blows. My Dad had a severe stroke in June 1977 and I was needed to help him and my mother in a business they had purchased in Paso Robles, California.
In 1980 I was with the California Jaycees, Paso Robles Chapter, where I was selected as the Jaycee of the Year for District 21 which was from Santa Maria north to Paso Robles. I went on to be selected as the Most Outstanding First Year Jaycee for the State of California (see the picture of me with my trophy and awarding beard) and represented the Chaper at the National convention in Cleveland, Ohio. It was an election year...Expand for more
and several canadidates spoke to our convention, where I was shown on the Walter Cronkite News on a nation wide broadcast.
We were in Paso Robles until 1983 when another family crisis dictated that we move to San Antonio, Texas where I have been since. I worked another twenty plus years for the Department of the Army and Marine Corp as a federal firefighter and Fire Inspector at Fort Sam Houston, Texas and Camp Pendelton, California.
Sadly, my Dad pasted away in January 1988. He had a major heart attack. I was with him and performed CPR but he died in my arms. Now it is just my mother Pat and sister Kris in SATX. My brother Robert or Rick is in Wichita, Kanas.
I am now self employed in SATX, where I own a lawn sprinkler business, it's a water thing I guess.
It would be nice to hear from some of you after all these years. My e-mail: mike013052 at the y place
