Michael's Story

Life Post DPHS I went straight into SUNY Maritime College in the summer along with DPHS Alumni Pat Crowe. What a long strange trip that was. I sailed to Portugal, Italy, Canada, Canary Islands, Mallorca and Florida. I Graduated in 1981 (2.0 and Go) with a Nuclear/Marine Engineering Degree. I worked for Ingersoll Rand in Allentown, PA for about 1 Month before being transferred to California. You'd think that would be a good thing? I moved out there with my High School Sweetheart (Loretta McNulty DPHS '79) and started my life as a Design Engineer. But High Pay, Unlimited Expense Account, and The General Morals of California in the Early 80's made for some, let's just say, Interesting Times. I bounced around California for 4 or so years Wining, Dining and Golfing all over the West Coast, Oklahoma and Texas. Sounds Great but I had to get back to the East Coast where people are Real and as far away from the Beautiful People in La La Land. (Not That There's anything Wrong with La La Land) Part 2 Lori and I got married in NY in Late September 1983. What a Party. Loads of DPHS Alumni, Maritime Alumni and Family. I don't remember much but they tell me I had a great time. We still lived in California for a year or more but had enough and decided to go east. So, with all our Possessions packed, we drove our Datsun 510 Cross Country. If you haven't done it, let me tell you. This is one Hell of a Wide Country. Everyone should do it once. It's a great experience. I I spent a few more years in Engineering but decided to get back into the business I liked the most. So, in 19...Expand for more
86 I started M&L Vending Machine Repair with a tool case and a Dream (to pay off my Student Loan) after all these years I'm at the top of the trade. I still enjoy it but I don't even like to do the things that I like to do for this long. I decided to do some design work and invented a fairly simple device for the Industry and it's been doing well. We're introduced it nationally in Las Vegas in Late March 2007. I like to stay busy. Lori and I have Two Girls. Kate's in her Senior Year at John J College in Manhattan (3 more Semesters to go). She¿s in a 5 Years Masters for Forensic Psychology and Doing Very well. Melissa will be a Senior at St. John the Baptist High School in the Fall and is looking for a Few Good Schools Close to Home that will give her a Lacrosse Scholarship and I think she's looking at Sports Medicine as a Career. They are Both Smart as whips, Beautiful and Athletic. I've coached them both in Soccer for most of their lives and am really proud of how they have turned out. Our North Babylon Warrior Team is Division I and is great to watch as they all grow up. Melissa is an All Suffolk Lacrosse Player and Kate was part of a pretty good St. Johns HS Crew Team. Well, it would be great to hear from you all. I had 2 Back surgeries to Repair all the Injuries that I Recieved playing Sports my whole Life. What Sports couldn't Break. My Work Finished off. I lost a Few Years but I'm Back. I'm back to Coaching Again and am back in Some Sort of Condition but I'm definately going in the right direction. High School were some Great Years. You Can Go Back!
