Michael's Story
College
PLU was a great school for me! George Wigen, who I graduated with are still seeing each other about once a month with Judy his wife and one of my lady friends. Enjoyed debate and baseball at PLU, more success in debate which has helped me in life!
Retirement
Finally retired in the spring of 2008 from Eastside Catholic High School after working there for 9 years. With 30 years in the Auburn Schools and White River High School had a total of 39 wonderful years of teaching.
Still in the teaching business, but now it is just college and high school football officials with my position as commissioner of the Northwest Intercollegiate Football Officials Association and working part time for the Washington Officials Association as a presenter and evaluator.
It has been a good ride and it is continuing. Enjoy dinner with friends like Bob Moliter, Lam Phan and Dog...Expand for more
Orr and many others. It is good to have time to see people.
Have bought a small garden home in East Mesa, AZ and will spend the winter there. In Mesa for January to April and enjoy the sun and baseball!
The WIAA inducted me into the state hall of fame in the spring of 2009 for both forensics and officiating. It was fun to see a number of my friends and former students at the presentation. Julie DeBolt (Clayton) and John Morton spoke for me and did an outstanding job.
I understand now why people come to Arizona! Having a good time with the sun and looking forward to seeing spring training.
In 2011 married the woman of my dreams, Jan and have been happy since November 26, 2011. We have traveled internationally and in the US.
Still busy with football officiating as the NCAA DIrector of DII Football Officials. Keeps me busy and out of trouble.
