Michael's Story
Life
I moved to Alaska in 1979. I lived in Kodiak for 3 years and worked as a commercial fisherman, carpenter and in the school district. In 1983 I joined the Alaska State troopers. I worked for them and the Dillingham Police department for a total of 11 years and then joined the Anchorage Police Department. jects, including firearms, collision investigation, traffic law enforcement and DUI enforcement. I have two daughters, ages 17 and 15. Both speak Japanese fluently and the 17 year old is in Sweden for a year on a foreign exchange. We sail Alaska every summer for about 2 months and I plan on retiring when the youngest graduates from high school in three years. The plan is to circumnavigate the globe on a sailboat.
