Michael's Story
If you remember me at 17 years of age, I'm pretty much the same person at 71. The exception being that I am married (48 years). How on earth has she put up with me this long? Two good kids, 2 good grandkids and a good rescue dog now complete our family. Some medical setbacks have curtailed my ability to continue my love of motorcycles and racecars. I'm too old for racing anyway, but I really miss the therapy of a motorcycle ride.. My wife is recently battling with some serious medical challenges. We hope and pray for her recovery. She is a fighter and hanging on like a pit bull. I think dealing with me all these years has strengthened her resolve.

I lost the love of my life on Dec 28th. The pain is over for her. Now...Expand for more
it's my turn for pain and sorrow. I pray for all who have lost a loved one.
Update 5/31/22
Last Thursday would have been our 49th anniversary. I visited the old closed up St. Mary church where we were married and it was a mess. There was an auction sign up front. It amplified my sadness. Foolishly, I went by our first apartment in Riverdale. Once again, I had a meltdown that lasted three days. Dear God, when will this grieving process slow down and let me live again? My ego has stopped me from grief counseling, but I think I need it now more than ever. Thank God for my kids and grandkids. That is keeping me trying. Sorry to complain and whine. It feels better just typing it out sometimes. Very few people will ever see this anyway.
