Michael's Story

Life Life is all about experiences, whether it's good or it's bad. The good brings you pleasure, and everyone welcomes them by heart. However, I personally like all the bad that happens to me as well, because only through casualties that I can grow more as a better person, find my own principle, discover my weakness, learn from my mistakes. For that, I love my mistakes just as much, well, as long as I can learn something from it and improve. Stepping on ***, or get hit by a car are never on my list -_-|||. But even when extreme negatives like permanant injuries occur (I am a cognitive science major and psychology minor, trust me, there's countless things that can go wrong on you, body and mind), take it as a new adventure and challenge. No one lives forever anyway, so might as well live the best you can, and stop the self-pity and complains, as they don't help the situation at all. Because that life is about experiences, I would always encourage myself, and anyone that I know of, keep trying all the new things that you have never tried before. We only have one life to live, and it could be this one time, or never. You don't realize that our time is limited when we are young, reaching our prime, but it is a fact that we will get old, probably sooner than all of us realized and anticipated, so try. Going hand in hand with the try philosophy, is to have no regret. Live with your decisions, and know that you couldn't have made a better choice at that very time, know you have done the best that you can within your capabilities, so there's no regret when you age and couldn't do that many things, look back upon what has been done, you can live in peace with the past. No Fear - "Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure...Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller Finally, life is always meaningful. We humans are living collectively together in society, as long as we are working, we are contributing, we are delivering a supply to a demand, and thus, are meaningful, no matter the achievements. Heck, animals eat and sleep all day, yet no one would ever say there's no purpose to their lives. Any human being can definitely do as much as that ^^. Moreover, without the bad, where would be the good; it is a relative thing. Success is not the sole evaluator about lif...Expand for more
e anyway, imagine a guy using all his time on work and as a result got divorced, has his children deserted him, would such a life be meaningful? Workplace God is fair, because he is unfair to each and every one of us. There's always the trade off. Yes, corporate millionaires are nice, but a lot of them live a tough and stressful life, because if that particular field can make one earn so many money, there's bound of be more competition because of such humongous gain. Being a star is nice, but look at all the lost of privacy, as one's past is being dug up and exposed from every angle. She could be with limited social circle, as such career isn't what everyone could relate to, moreover, she needs to keep away from the public most of the time because of all the media and star chase. Being a teacher could be not as rewarding financially, but look at all the differences he or she made within the communities, all the students helped, and all the people known and acquainted. Gaining through losing, losing through gaining, there's always a cost. Personally, the most important thing I see when it comes to work is interest. Being passionate about one's job is the most blessing thing in this world in my opinion. I am forever envious for those who had find their paths and moving on with the challenge. You don't even need to worry about performance when you are interested, because you will keep working on the task automatically yourself, spending a lot of time on it; and in most cases, talent isn't the most determining factor in performance level, but the the amount of effort put in. Finding something that will keep drawing you back is not as easy as most thought, because it is in our nature to be habituated with a frequently presented thing, getting bored with the same thing over and over, and it's one of the reasons why people like to switch, because things, including jobs, tend to get dull over time. So finding a job that gives a passion that last should never be taken for granted. For those who always like to take the easy way, let me tell you, there's never a easy way that lead to anything rewarding, because if such thing ever exist, everyone would go that way, and consequently competition would go up, then yikes, it becomes hard. So don't let the easy way ever get into your mind when picking a career.
