I've served in the air force right after graduation. Had a stupid 3 month marriage & a wonderful 8 year one as well. Needless to say they ended in divorce... I have 3 grown sons, neither did I get to be a significant part of their lives. I have been divorced 24 years the 25th of last month now. I injured my back while in the military & thought that was the basis of my honerable discharge. I was given a minor disability for something else. I tried to get it corrected over the years & the amount on the one they gave me was increased. I kept working & taking a few college courses when ever I could, I never finished or got any degrees. I since was told by my doctors that I can no longer work, so I went back after the government for a pension. In 1999 I won an award for a non-service pension, it was retro-active to 1995 & I got the back pay for it. I then filed for a service-connected one & hired an attorney to handle it.
