Michael's Story
Graduated, spent a year at Los Medanos, then enlisted in the army. Basic at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Calibration training at Lowry AFB, Denver, then two years in Germany, based out of Augsburg. I worked on the Nuremberg team for six months, then was transferred to the Stuttgart team. The unrestricted portions of the autobahn were exhilarating and terrifying at the same time...
I enjoyed my time in the service, but the military wasn't something that I wanted to do for 30 years. Got out in 78 and went to work for Systron Donner. Got laid off after 15 years, then went to work for Siemens Medical. Laid off after 13 years, then went to Rolls Royce Engine services...Expand for more
in Oakland. (aircraft engines)
Also worked for RS Calibrations, Teledyne and A&P Calibrations
Graduated with ETEC degree from LMC. Worked for Fresenius Medical Care in Concord for six years...now a Metrology Engineering Technician with PG&E in San Ramon.
I've been part of a pit crew for a sprint car for 32years...there's just something about the raw power that gets to me.
I've also gotten into landscape photography in a major way...a lot of national park photos. I enjoy it and have had several calendars published.
Still live in Contra Costa...just never saw a reason to leave.
