Michael's Story
Actually I graduated in 1962 from Waianae High School, Waianae, Hawaii which is on the island of Oahu. We left Fort Knox in May of 1961. After graduation I enlisted in the Navy in Oct. of 1962. Most all of my career was spen on ships (13yrs). I was stationed on the DL uss John S McCain, the Uss Henderson DD-785, the Uss Whipple FF-1062, the Uss Tulare (a reserve training ship) and finally the Uss Flint (an ammunition ship). he Navy as a Civil Servant and worked for the Government for 12yrs because of the base closure at Treasure Island, Ca and started working for the City of Berkeley in the Building Department for almost 14 years and have been retired ever since. I live with my wife Karen whom I married in 1970 and have been married now for 42 years. We raised two wonderful children; Andrea Maureen and Scott Michael. I am a Little League umpire here in the city of Pinole, Ca and have been for going on 29 years.
