Michael's Story
Michael is from Sandy, Utah. I come from Pioneer and early Utah Heritage. Everyone had arrived in Utah by 1884. Michael is married to Donna Baker Elder from Bingham High School (1972). She grew up in South Jordan, (her Mother was a graduate from Jordan High years earlier). Michael's schools include Jordan High School (1973), some UofU and other colleges, and then mainly U.S. Army Schools. Took Distinguished Honor Graduate in 2 U.S. Army Nuclear, Biological, & Chemical Schools (NBC). Joined U.S. Army Reserves Military Police 1 1/2 months out of High School, 25 July 1973. C), until Dec. 1997 (24 1/2 years total). Served an LDS Mission to Colorado Denver Mission (1974-1976). Donna went to the Louisville, Kentucky Mission (1976-1978) and was lined up with me on a blind date, and married 4 months later, Nov 1978. Returned to Utah after military. Since I've been Customer Service for various places, Utah Hogle Zoo Greeter,Tickets & Train Operator. Earlier in life sold Jolly Jingle Potato Chips door to door. Worked in Hawaii picking pineapples. Various positions at ZCMI. Built cabinets at Granite Mill. And Santa with Reindeer at a tree lot in Sandy. Medically retired by VA since July 2012. In spare time I make Earrings and help with my Grandkids, and work on Family History.
