Michael's Story
What a voyage it has been.
Graduated in 68', and in November, went back to Baltimore to join the MEBA Engineering school. Run by the marine engineering union, it was a 6 months to school, 1 year at sea, and 6 more months at school to end up with a Marine Engineers License, which I used while working aboard freighters, tankers and passenger liners from 1970 until 1978. During that time I was able to travel to over 50 countries. When shipping was containerized, port time was reduced from days to hours, and my love of the sea ended. ented and beautiful woman. I remarried in 1988 to my current and most wonderful wife, Salli Rasberry, Author and Painter (in practice). I formed a construction company in 1988 and worked successfully in the business until 2004, when I took a job for a general construction company in Florida. I worked for them as their only "Architectural Designer" until the collapse of the housing industry in 2008. In the process of looking for other work, I decided to do a project in partnership with my brother Sid Eschenbach, and moved to Panajachel Guatemala, where I currently live...... I still enjoy every day and feel mentally as though it was 1968, though the body has aged somewhat... Travel softly and enjoy it all....
