Michael's Story
Life After College, I went to work at Rohr. I spent 14 years there in various departments. From there I went on the road as a contractor. I contracted at many different fortune 500 companies for about 2 years (1-2 weeks at a time), then spent 18 months at Applied Materials in Austin, TX. From there I went to Boeing for a 4 week contract that turned into 10 years. All the time, still living in Bonita and commuting each week.
I now work at a local company that does Pharmacy Business Management. I am an IT Manager there and have a great team of people. I really enjoy this job.
I have two great girls from my first marriage (born 1987 and 1989). Both are excellent students and enjoy sports, music and boys (not necessarily in that order). T...Expand for more
he both graduated from Bonita Vista. The oldest is Ashley and the youngest is Amanda.
I got remarried in 1997 to Marla Close (class of 78) who has boy/girl twins born in 1993 (that brings the total to "4" for those keeping score at home). She and I dated in 1976 and 1980, then took a 20 year break before getting it right.
I currently coach soccer and serve on the board. I like to donate my time to create web sites for good causes. Marla and I help the kids with scouts, choir, and other school activities.
Marla's kids started at Bonita Vista this year. Brandon played freshman football and ran track. Jenna played varsity soccer and ran track. It was really weird going back to see a meet at the old stomping grounds, but I truly enjoyed it.
