Michael's Story
Life
Hi! After school I attended SUNY Maritime college and received a Third Mates licence for working on ships as well as a BS degree. I started working at sea in 1981 when I graduated and am still at it. After 24 years it has been a good career and I still enjoy my job. I met my wife, Cyndi, in NJ through my best friend and we moved down to Melbourne FLA where we stayed for 15 years. During that time we had two sons. Chris is now 19 and living on his own and Matthew is 17 and still at home. Both were/are homeschooled and Cyndi has done a fantastic job. bs my entire life it was quite a change. We love it there and it has been a good place to raise the kids. We are active in church and volunteer with the Disater Relief ministry. We love to travel and see different things and places. This year is our 20th anniversary so we took a trip to Europe without the kids. It was so nice being there. 2006 will bring us back into NY for our annual summer trip and I look forward to seeing the places I grew up again. I am at work right now on the ship and have another 12 days before I get off again. One thing I have learned over all these years is that there is nothing better than coming home from 3 weeks offshore and spending time with your family.
