Michael's Story
Life
After leaving South I attended the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md for two years. I then transfered to The Catholic University of America in Washington DC where I received a BA in Theatre. I began working as a professional actor with The Arena Stage also in Washington and toured the Soviet Union with them in 1973. I moved to New York City in 1974 and lived there for over 20 years acting and directing. I worked on Broadway and Off Bradway and extensively in Regional Theatre in such venues as Missouri Repertory Theatre in Kansas City, Baltimore's Center Stage and The Great Laked Shakespeare Festival in Cleveland.
I met my wife Amy Warner an actress in 1986 an...Expand for more
d we were married in September of that year.
We moved to a resort in Pennsylvania called Allenberry where I became the Artistic Director of the theatre there. I acted as Artistic Director for four seasons.
We then moved to Venice California where we lived until 2002 when I was offered the job of Associate Artistic Director of Cincinnati Playhouse. We have been very happy here for the past two years--me directing and Amy acting. The theatre was awarded the Regional Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre this past June.
Amy is from Minneapolis. We have no children.
I get back to KC a couple of times a year to visit my mother and my sister and her family.
