Michael's Story
2011 UPDATE: It has been a while since I have been on this site. Several months ago I completed my first complete journey around the World. I traveled by my self for 6 months and 6 days with no hotel reservations. I had the good fortune to visit 14 countries on this adventure.
I started in Ireland and then went to Morocco for 3 weeks and then on to Tunisa then to Beautiful Malta and from there to Bulgaria where I made some good friends and then I hopped on a bus and went to Romania and then down to Israel. I enjoyed Israel and I felt safe while I was there. I went for a swim in the Dead Sea while in Israel.
Petra, Jordan was next followed by a hot and sweaty Dubai. In Dubai I saw the tallest building in the World.
India was the Jewel in the Crown of my around the World Adventure. India is a Chaotic assault on the senses. It is colorful noisy dirty and full of life and death. I stayed in India for 45 days. I loved it. I was sad when my time in India was at an end.
From India I flew to Thailand where I visited the Grand Palace in Bangkok. From Chaing Mai in Thailand I took a boat for Laos. After a few weeks in Laos I flew to the Island of Borneo. There are 3 countries on the Island of Borneo. I flew into Brunei. Yes I even took a boat into the Jungles of Borneo.
I love the Traveler's Life. I am now visiting my brother in Pasadena, CA. I intend to dust off my travel shoes and with in the next 30 days go to some country that I have not visited yet.
2009 I have been hiding in my work. I am at work right now. I am working on The Academy Awards for 2009. Hugh Jackman and Beyonce and dancers are on stage 40 feet in front of me. It will be another 18 hour day. The show is in 2 days. I have enjoyed the hard work I will sleep next week.

Life has been good to me. I was married for a short and interesting time. I discovered being single was better. I like children and animals but I don't have either.
I have been working in Hollywood for 30+ years. I have worked on over 50 major T.V. shows from Price is Right to The Golden Girls to General Hospital and The Young and Restless as well as The Fresh Prince to the Tonight show.
I have worked on The Emmys and BET Awards and The Grammy Awards. I have also worked on 10 Academy Award shows and Oprah after the Oscars. I get to see all the stars up close back stage. Some are nice some are not.
I am a Stage Hand I specialize in doing lighting for stage and T.V.
I toured 44 states in America and across Canada with the Rock and Roll Group 'Chicago' and then the Ohio Players as part of there lighting crew. It was a fun time.
Over the years I have done lighting for over 200 musical groups from David Bowie to Stevie Wonders to Neil Diamond and Diana Ross and I recently Did a show at the Kodak theater in Hollywood with David Gilmore from Pink Floyd. Later in 2006 I did a show with Donovan.
I have operated the lighting console for the last 3 American Idol finals at the Kodak Theater.
Ahhh, But my real passion is TRAVEL. I love doing International travel. So far I have been to 40 countries (now 54 countries). I travel alone without tour groups and I never make hotel reservations in advance.
Recently I was in Panama riding the train thru the jungles of Panama. I had a great time.
In December 2006 I went to Ethiopia and on to Mali in Africa. I managed to get to the Fabled City of Timbuktu. From the capital Bamako I rode a bus for 11 hours and then a 4 wheel drive SUV for 15 hours to Timbuktu. It was delightfully Challenging. Viet Nam Peru Cambodia and China were all fun and exciting adventures for me.
My intention is to visit every country on the Planet,if I live long enough. So far Italy is my favorite. I have been there 3 times and 4 times in Paris.
In my opinion the Best is Yet to Come. Life only gets better.
